Story

Roy Castle Lung Foundation are setting a challenging of walking, swimming or cycling 100 miles in March and we thought we would like to get involved, but we are going to do things a little differently. We will be starting our month long walking challenge on 28th March, which would have been dad’s 91st birthday and we’d be really grateful if you could sponsor us. We will post more details and tell you about our progress on our blog and on my Facebook page and anyone who would like to join us for any of our walks would be very welcome. xxx

A Huge Thank You

26th June 2023
Just received a message to say that today is the last day for people to add donations and messages to this page, so I just wanted to jump on and add a huge thank you for all of your kindness and generosity. It is so good of you to donate and it means so much to us. I also received an email today to say that after all their years of campaigning at the Roy Castle Lung Foundation, the government will be starting to offer screening for lung cancer to some people over the age of 55, which is definitely a step in the right direction. xxx

We did it!

30th April 2023
We did it! Yesterday was the final day of our 100 Mile Walk Challenge. We actually hit our 100 mile target last Sunday, so we kept on going. Our final total was 144.9 miles or 233.23 kilometres. A huge thank you for the donations. I know times are hard. It is very much appreciated. We will publish all of our stats and photos on our blog. Hope everyone has a restful bank holiday weekend. xxx

Day 1 of 100 Mile Walking Challenge

29th March 2023
We are pleased with our Day 1 results. We managed to walk almost double the distance needed to meet our target, which makes us feel really positive and excited about the rest of the challenge. We will post an update at the end of our challenge. We will also be posting on Facebook and on our blog. Thank you so much for your kind donations. They are so much appreciated xxx
